Description Peter Teichman 2001-10-31 02:44:46 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Normal
Version: 0.0
Synopsis: evolution-addressbook crash
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Contacts [was: Addressbook]

Description:
I'm using the 2001.10.28.13.59 snapshot.

I composed a mail, hit send, and the addressbook crashed. Not much else
to it, as far as I can tell.

I am completely up to date with all the updates planned to go out with
the release candidate, except for two-day-old gal, gtkhtml, and
evolution packages.

Comment 1 Luis Villa 2001-10-31 04:38:36 UTC
Still seeing this in today's snaps, Peter?
Comment 2 Peter Teichman 2001-10-31 12:50:10 UTC
I haven't updated yet. Doing that now.

I only saw this crash once yesterday, so I'm not too sure it will come
up again. Toshok said that it looked like the addressbook was
returning a completion after the widget that asked for it was
destroyed, if that helps track it down at all.
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2001-10-31 16:13:59 UTC
Well, still no dups, so we'll leave it open and focus on it if others
see it.

Comment 5 Peter Teichman 2001-11-01 17:15:54 UTC
I'm still seeing this with the 2001.10.31.15.22 snapshot. I've seen
it around five times, and may be able to reproduce it if needed.
Comment 6 Nat Friedman 2001-11-01 18:20:16 UTC
I am also seeing this. The completion window sticks around after the
mail is sent too. I will attach my stack trace.

I am running snap 2001.11.02.21.57, and the problem in still there.

It looks like trow fixed it at 2001-11-02 22:07, so I will not change
the status until I try a version post 1102.

Now running 2001.11.06.15.04.

Evo doesn't lock up anymore, but a little window appears for a few
seconds after sending an e-mail. similar to:

Comment 23 trow 2001-11-07 15:44:50 UTC
OK, now that is weird.

I've gotten a similar report from one other person; I wonder if this
could be a gtk+ bug.

rml: Where did you get your gtk+? From Ximian?
