Description Miles Lane 2001-10-21 06:21:49 UTC
I just downloaded the latest CVS changes, and built and installed
everything (gal, gtkhtml and evolution). When I restarted Evo,
I checked for new mail, read a couple of messages, deleted one,
and then exited ( I have auto-empty-trash enabled). I found that
wombat did not exit.

Here is the backtrace from the stranded wombat process:

  • #0 __poll
    at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c line 63
  • #1 g_main_poll
    at gmain.c line 1034
  • #2 g_main_iterate
    at gmain.c line 808
  • #3 g_main_run
    at gmain.c line 935
  • #4 gtk_main
    at gtkmain.c line 524
  • #5 bonobo_main
    at bonobo-main.c line 283
  • #6 main
    at wombat.c line 271
  • #7 __libc_start_main
    at ../sysdeps/generic/libc-start.c line 129

I find that this is 100% reproducible.

Still a problem, miles? IIRC, some refcounting issues were fixed here
on monday or tuesday...
Comment 2 Miles Lane 2001-10-25 21:45:54 UTC
I'll check. I am running Windoze now.
Comment 3 Miles Lane 2001-10-26 07:36:53 UTC
Yes, I can still reproduce this will all the changes
through October 25th.
Comment 4 Chris Toshok 2001-10-29 09:42:03 UTC
I've got a change to wombat/pas/pcs that displays the list of active
backends in each of PAS/PCS on SIGUSR2, and it seems that when the
wombat sticks around there are references to the tasks and default
calendar left over. Once I get gnome cvs to cooperate others will be
able to use this to see what's around when wombat is hung. in the
meantime, reassigning to evolution-calendar-maintainers.
Comment 5 Federico Mena Quintero 2001-10-29 19:24:27 UTC
Those "stale references" are not stale at all; they come from the
alarm daemon which *does* keep your calendar and tasks folders open in
the Wombat.

Marking this as a dupe of #11984.
