Description Joe Shaw 2001-10-15 17:58:48 UTC
The sort order of the rules in the vFolder editor is in the order in which
they are created, whereas they are case sensitive-alphabetic (in the C
locale anyway) in the shell. It would be a lot easier to find the filter
ruleset I am looking for (as I have 40+) if they were sorted in the same
order as the shell.
Comment 1 Not Zed 2001-10-17 18:21:40 UTC
BTW if you just want to speed up finding the right rule for a given
vfolder, just to file->folder->properties when you have it open.

Comment 3 Marius Andreiana 2003-05-15 06:41:01 UTC
Could this be commited in evolution 1.3.x please?
Comment 4 Jeffrey Stedfast 2003-05-15 16:45:22 UTC
no, if I recall correctly the patch is wrong.
Comment 5 Joe Shaw 2004-01-15 20:24:38 UTC
This is still present in 1.5.x. It's probably bit-rotten now, but
what was wrong with the patch?
Comment 6 Jeffrey Stedfast 2004-01-15 21:45:43 UTC
fixed in CVS

the thing is, we don't want to sort the vfolders because that would be
both annoying and confusing to users (filters aren't sorted, why
should vfolders be?)

the solution I implemented is to not sort vfolders at all in the tree.
Comment 7 Joe Shaw 2004-02-03 17:19:14 UTC
Reopening this because as far as I can tell, the sort order in the
folder tree now is totally random. It's not alphabetic, and it
doesn't match the order in the list when you do "Tools -> Virtual
folder editor"
Comment 8 Joe Shaw 2004-02-03 17:19:46 UTC
This is using the snaps from 2 February, BTW.
Comment 9 Gerardo Marin 2004-02-06 00:39:39 UTC
Can you re-sort folders in the editor (up/down) ?

Comment 10 Jeffrey Stedfast 2004-02-06 01:08:35 UTC
he means that the vfolders don't display in the same order as they
display in the editor...
Comment 11 Joe Shaw 2004-02-06 18:11:07 UTC
correct. changing the order in the editor does not affect the display
order at all.
