GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 209605
Let "Delete" remove selected contact from the mailer contacts selector
Last modified: 2013-09-13 00:45:22 UTC
Tested with evolution-0.13.99-snap.ximian.200109080708. If I bring up the composer window and press "To:" I get up a contacts selector where I can select contacts from the address book. I can add contacts from the left pane to the "To:" field by pressing "To: ->". However, it seems impossible to remove the contact from the "To:" field if I want to change it without pressing cancel and exiting the dialog. I'm suggesting that the "Delete" key gets bound so that if i select a contact from the right and press Delete, it gets moved back to the left pane again. Possibly, buttons that do the same could also be added.
you can currently delete the contact from the right-hand list by either a) double-clicking the right-side contact b) right-clicking and selecting "Remove" Personally I agree VERY MUCH with the suggestion, but there are alternate methods so what do you say we target this for the future? I think that in addition to the "Delete" key, there should be a "<--" button directly below each of the "To: ->" (etc.) buttons, for those people who have no intution to discover a feature that isn't in a menu or on a button.
Sure, I agree with all of this.
in evo1.4.4-54 both possibilities described by eric are still there. perhaps another button should be implemented, because i seriously wonder if this is HIG-compliant at the moment...
the same as 1.4.4-54 with evolution1.5-1.5.7.0.200405162027-0.snap.ximian.8.1, adding keywords.
updating: - regression: there is no right-click menu in evolution-2.1.4.0. 200502011251-0.snap.ximian.10.1. - delete key still not working - double-clicking and also pushing enter works to remove the recipient, but i would NEVER have thought of that, if i had not read it in eric's comment. a normal user obviously expects the delete key for this functionality...
