Description Dan Berger 2001-09-10 18:39:18 UTC
I suspect this is either installation specific or has already been
reported, but I'm stuck, so here's the bug:

I exported all my contacts from Evo - contacts, select all, save as vcard.

The resulting file is readable by gnome-card.

I then attempted to import those contacts into evolution.

When I choose File->Import File, - point it at the file name, leave the
file type on automatic and select "Contacts" as the destination, I get
"There is no importer that is able to handle <file>"

If I tell it that it's a VCard file - I get one dialog that reports:

"Importing <file> Starting
OAFIID:GNOME_EvolutionAddressbook_VCard_Importer"

and immediately another that reports:

"Error loading <file>"

the console reports:

iid: OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Addressbook_VCard_Importer
Importing with: OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Addressbook_VCard_Importer

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkobject.c: line 1179 (gtk_object_unref): assertion
`object->ref_count > 0' failed.

I've killev'd and oaf-slay'd to insure it's not some crufty process getting
in the way - the results never change.

I even pulled the file into gnomecard and saved it - no change.

I can supply the file if desired.

Confirmed. Exactly the same sequence of errors happens for me.

duping on 8001, since that is properly triaged and commented on already.
