When creating a new contact list, the email address box should be similar
to a To: box in the mailer: it should support autocomplete, so you can
match up the names/addresses with contacts.

I guess part of it is already there. You can use the select button which shows
up similiar to TO button. But, it doesnt autocomplete, it doesnt merge both.
This two should be fixable.

applied the patch to 2.7, but not sure at all if its correct, but nearly all of my   entries get duplicated (can be my fault because the patch did not apply cleanly).

anyway, still works and needs only little additional work it seems. targetting to 2.7. let's please do not forget this patch this time.
July 24th is API/ABI Freeze.

I wrote this patch almost  2 releases before. It took a year to get it :) Atleast now, devasish added some paddings to avoid future breaks. Thanks
