Description ocmbah 2001-08-07 02:46:44 UTC
there should be a way for you to choose HTML format as your default for
composing messages

also pressing ctrl-n on when a compose window is open doesn't make another
compose window you have to put the focus on the main evolution window if
you want to open another window, it might be helpful if pressing ctrl-n
when having a compose window also worked.
Comment 1 Luis Villa 2001-08-11 03:08:11 UTC
The first part is in the per-account options, so re-titling.
Comment 2 Luis Villa 2001-08-17 20:24:40 UTC
As a result of the UI freeze today, I'm marking all remaining non-1.0 UI bugs to
'future'. Someone reading this should only change the target back to 1.0 under
the following circumstances:
1) The change would not impact documentation. (i.e., 'how to do X' would not
have to be changed in any way.)
2) The change would require trivial work for the programmers involved. Most
likely, only the programmers themselves are able to judge this. So, if you are
not on the evo team, or cannot provide a patch to them for this, you should
probably not make any such changes.
Sorry that this is going to impact so many irritating bugs, but we have to
prioritize our limited resources.
Comment 3 Sven Rohweder 2002-06-06 17:46:14 UTC
still valid for 1.1.0.99, ctrl-n in a compose window doesn't open another
Comment 4 André Klapper 2004-04-06 11:01:48 UTC

Apologies for any spam... cc'ing usability-maint on all Evolution usability
bugs. Filter on EVO-USABILITY-SPAM to ignore.
Comment 9 André Klapper 2005-09-13 13:06:21 UTC
still in 2.4, therefore punting target milestone to 2.5, reassigning to harish
Comment 10 Karsten Bräckelmann 2006-01-14 00:20:32 UTC
I'm inclined to close this WONTFIX...
Comment 11 André Klapper 2006-03-05 01:22:01 UTC
changing target milestone from 2.5 to future. sorry, too many bugs, too less time.
Comment 12 lexual 2006-09-15 00:26:00 UTC
Why would this be WONTFIX? It seems a perfect reasonable use case that a user may be midway through composing an email to one individual, and need to compose a new email to somebody else.
Comment 13 Tobias Mueller 2008-02-29 20:38:26 UTC
Is this still an issue?

If so, please set version accordingly, else close as OBSOLETE.
Comment 14 Matthew Paul Thomas (mpt) 2008-03-05 11:01:07 UTC
Verifying that this is still an issue took me about ten seconds.

proposed evo patch

for evolution;
Comment 16 Matthew Barnes 2008-07-08 14:25:02 UTC
Looks good, just one nitpick. I'd rather not show the word "composer" to users. Evolution's main menu uses "New -> Mail Message" to open a composer window, so I'd prefer the menu item say "New Message" instead of "New Composer".
Comment 17 Matthew Barnes 2008-07-08 14:27:08 UTC
No need to post a new patch just for that, btw. Just make sure you don't introduce any duplicate mnemonics in the menu and commit.
Comment 18 Milan Crha 2008-07-09 07:59:31 UTC
Slightly modified patch committed to trunk. Committed revision 35733.
