Comment 1 Jesse Pretorius 2004-04-22 21:03:11 UTC
in Evo 1.4.6 I can print the contacts - I don't know what would need
to be enhanced, perhaps you can provide more detail on what you were
looking for?
Comment 2 Gerardo Marin 2004-04-23 04:17:52 UTC
Jesee: many thanks for calling my attention on this one.
Using stock print dialog seems enough for me.
Closing as fixed.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2004-04-30 11:28:39 UTC
closing as discussed on irc.
Comment 4 Chris Lahey 2004-04-30 14:48:29 UTC
There's all sorts of things that should be configurable here. Primary
is what format you want the contacts printed in.

Printing labels for mailing lists is a major piece of functionality
for an addressbook. To do this though, you need to be able to control
how the addresses get printed in some detail, as labels come in all
sorts of shapes and sizes.

Another common task would be to print out an addressbook to carry
around with you. Again, size and layout of the data is important.

Yet another common task would be to print the address on an envelope.

Although these tasks aren't that common among hackers, because of our
heavy use of online communications, I believe this functionality will
become more important as non-technical users start to use linux.

I think this bug is important and should be kept open. Discussion on
how to implement these features would be good.

second one is the same as bug 206142, and the third one is the same as
bug 202200.
Comment 6 Gerardo Marin 2004-08-31 06:33:16 UTC
Also now you can take advantage of e-d-s and access your addressbok
from a more suitable application to print (i.e. ooo).
I'm still inclined to close this one.
Comment 7 André Klapper 2004-09-22 11:40:17 UTC
adding "printing" keyword to make printing issues searchable again, finally...
sorry for the noise/spam. :-/
