Description Slobodan D. Sredojevic 2005-04-08 20:30:31 UTC
Hi,

Noticed this:

Insert data disk into cd/rw. Close it. After a couple of seconds icon appears
onto $HOME/Desktop. I can browse the cd content this way by clicking on that
icon or through "Computer" --> "CD-RW Drive: cd_title" etc.

Now right click over that icon. Choose "Eject" from context menu. CD tray is
out. Close the tray (with the same cd or another one -- result is the same),
/etc/mtab gets line (as it should):

/dev/hdd /media/cdrecorder iso9660 ro,nosuid,nodev,user=slobo 0 0

But, now, CD icon is not showed onto $HOME/Desktop. Though I can access cd
content through /media/cdrecorder using terminal program.

If I click onto Computer --> CD-RW Drive (now without cd_title) I get this
error/warning message:

Mount Error /* window title*/

Unable to mount the selected volume /* Show more details gives:*/

mount: block device /dev/hdd is write protected, mounting read-only
mount: /dev/hdd already mounted or /media/cdrecorder busy
mount: acording to mtab, /dev/hdd is already mounted as /media/cdrecorder

At the same time, this message is shown, cd icon appears/is shown onto
$/HOME/Desktop.

This all is not happening with audio cds!

I am using latest dbus, hal, gnome-volume-manager (1.2.1). Distro is Gentoo
GNU/Linux.
I'll send more info on this if you need.

Thank you
Slobodan D. Sredojevic

that's probably an hal/gamin issue, can you open a bug about that on the gentoo
bugzilla, they probably now better what they use.

Comment 3 Slobodan D. Sredojevic 2005-04-10 21:33:33 UTC
Sure. First I'll try to install kernel with latest inotify.
Comment 4 Sebastien Bacher 2005-07-31 14:43:45 UTC
is that still an issue for you?
