Description Morten Welinder 2005-04-08 17:31:26 UTC
Suppose we have a layout that looks like this...

This is a
long text

...and rotate it +45 degrees. We get [hope you have fixed-width font]:

        a
       . t
      s x
     i e
    . t
   s .
  i g
 h n
T o
 l

(Space replaced by "." for clarity.) Notice that the second line starts lower
than the first. What would one do to get...

        a t
       . x
      s e
     i y
    . .
   s g
  i n
 h o
T l

... i.e., have a flush bottom? (This is what Excel does and it does seem
to have its uses.)

Tricks, hacks, and work-arounds welcome.

Well, you can draw the lines of a layout wherever you want. What else
would you want from Pango?

Ok, never mind.
