Description James 2005-03-28 23:41:53 UTC
gedit should include an option that will allow the searching (and replacing) of
all files that are open in gedit. Currently the only options are: "Match case",
"Match entire word only", "Search backwards", "Wrap around". This would be a
huge usuablity improvement. Please consider :)

YES! this would really enhance productivity within gedit.

even better: you could be able to replace text in "All files in current folder" or "Current folder and subdirectories". then... gedit would have achieved perfection. :)

PS: Dreamweaver has this feature and it really IS helpful, specially when you're building a website or that kind of stuff.

no luck with 2.12.x
Comment 6 Paolo Maggi 2006-08-21 09:48:15 UTC
I have started working on this feature. May be it will be included in 2.18 (too late for 2.16).

Paolo, any update?
Comment 8 James 2007-09-24 21:14:22 UTC
Kate supports this and I believe they are using grep to do the searching.
