parasitical message when launching gimp 2.2 exe

Distribution/Version: XP Home SP1 1-I click upon the gimp icon on my desk, which is loaded in "C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.2\bin\gimp-2.2.exe" 2- I get this message: >>There is no disk in the disk drive. Insert a disk in the disk drive\Device\Harddisk3\DR5<< I am offered 3 options: start again/cancel/continue 3- If I click on "cancel" nothing occurs.I may click on "start again" or "continue" and the launching goes on. 4- Second message, identical with the first one. Same procedure.Launching goes on. 5- Gimp loaded OK, I can work.

I would like to confirm the following facts. I found out in my control panel that I had "Multimedia card reader" installed. Never used. I don't remember what it is. But I uninstalled it. And Miracle! the famous bug disappeared, no more message "insert disk etc." So I wanted to tell my story to all of you who have been suffering with that diabolic message.
