GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 170793
New option to allow workspace switching with mouse
Last modified: 2005-03-18 19:39:59 UTC
Distribution/Version: Fedora Core 3 Hi. I would really like to be able to switch workspaces using the mouse by moving it to the edge of the screen. This behaviour was available in Fvwm2, and it was quite useful. A related option would be to allow "Edge Resistance", which is a measurement of the time that the mouse pointer needs to be at the edge to actually switch workspace. This is to suppress switching workspaces accidentally. Another related option is the movement of windows between workspaces, i.e. to be able to move windows between workspaces by moving the mouse pointer to the edge of the screen while moving a window. This would change screen while still holding on to the window, and thus allow windows to be moved from workspace to workspace without using the "Control Box Menu"->Move to Workspace [direction].
"I would really like to be able to switch workspaces using the mouse by moving it to the edge of the screen. This behaviour was available in Fvwm2, and it was quite useful." Not sure about this one. I expect it to be a dupe. "A related option would be to allow "Edge Resistance", which is a measurement of the time that the mouse pointer needs to be at the edge to actually switch workspace. Olav pointed out the other issues that your bug was a dupe of, so marking this as a dupe of the main issue you pointed out. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 82917 ***
