Description Jeff Molofee 2005-03-13 09:34:05 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When attempting to install a new theme, the error message "tar program is not
installed" will appear. After fixing this issue, I also received an error about
zip not being found. It seems the theme manager is searching for these two
programs in /bin... however, they are located in /usr/bin. I had to make
symlinks in the /bin directory to install a new theme.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install gnome 2.10 (attempt to install a theme)
2.
3.

Actual results:
Error stating the "TAR" program can not be found on my system.

Expected results:
It should prompt for the location of a new theme package.

Does this happen every time?
yes (until links symlinks are made in /bin to /usr/bin/tar and gzip)

Other information:
This could be a problem with my system, although I did remove and reinstall gzip
and bsdtar and there were not links in /bin to either of these files.
