Description Jim Habegger 2005-03-13 03:47:32 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I'm using The GIMP for Win32, with a Microtek Scanmaker E6 (SCSI). When I click
File, Acquire, TWAIN, a "Select Source" window opens with nothing in it, and
nothing happens. If I click "Select," it says "Not Responding."

In the Windows task manager, I see twain.exe, and when I end it, I get this message:

----

GIMP Message

Plug-In crashed: "twain.exe"
(C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\twain.exe)

The dying Plug-In may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save
your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.

Steps to reproduce:
1. File, Acquire, TWAIN
2. Select
3.

Actual results:
Nothing

Expected results:
I would expect the Scan Wizard to open, like it does when I do the same thing in
other applications.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Yeah, thanks for the report, we know this plug-in has problems. Unfortunately
we haven't yet found the magic combination of a person with this problem who has
a Windows setup that includes a debugger, so we don't have any way of finding
out where in the plug-in the problem is.
