GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 169542
Dragging Web search field into page searches Google for "%s"
Last modified: 2006-01-15 16:24:13 UTC
Version details: 2.9.92 Distribution/Version: Ubuntu Hoary Build: Epiphany 1.5.8, Ubuntu Hoary 2005-03-04 To reproduce: 1. Open the Bookmarks Bar. 2. Choose "Edit" > "Toolbars". 3. Drag the "Search the Web:" field into the page content area. What should happen: * Nothing. (The field should visually zoom back into its previous place.) What actually happens: * "Results 1 - 10 of about 1,050,000,000 for %s. (0.09 seconds)"
I cannot reproduce this using either 1.6.x or 1.7.x; when I drag the google...?q=%s link to embed, it loads the main google page. Maybe it's dependent on which .tld's google you get?
I have the same problem here (my tld being .be or .fr). If I click on a "search" via the bookmark menu or via the bookmark bar I get the google main page right. But if I drag the link from anywhere or just open it from bookmark editor I get the same behavior described before.
This appears to have been fixed in CVS, most likely due to harves toolbar re-write.
