Description Steven 2005-03-07 21:46:59 UTC
I installed the GIMP from a CD distributed by the GO-OPEN campaign in South
Africa. When trying to open it for the first time it gave the following
message:
**WARNING (recursed)**. Couldn't load font "MS Sans Serif 8" falling back
to "Sans 8" aborting...

After trying twice to uninstall and reinstall and encountering the same problem
I thought I would try to submit a report!

I am running the Windows 98 OS.

Change your Windows font to any TrueType font (eg. Arial or Tahoma), or
uninstall GTK+ and install it again, but without the GTK-Wimp component this
time.
This should fix your problem.
