GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 169375
Supplying DTD for validation when using Reader API
Last modified: 2021-07-05 13:20:35 UTC
Find yourself in a situation where you have huge documents for which the Reader API would fit like a glove, and where validation would be the icing on the cake - you already have the DTD - but where the documents lack a DOCTYPE declaration referencing that DTD. It would be very nice if there was support in the Reader API to supply a separately parsed DTD (or even a DTD URI). I'm not savvy enough on libxml2 internals to give a shot at implementing it myself, so I'm humbly awaiting action to be taken by the Elders (Daniel?).
I might give a go at this anyway, Just For Fun (TM).
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
