GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 169162
Crash when using file from UNC share on Windows
Last modified: 2008-01-15 12:49:18 UTC
Distribution/Version: 2000 1. Open the GIMP 2. Drag and drop a file from a UNC share to the GIMP toolbox to open it (by UNC share I mean something like \\servername\sharename\directory). 3. Do a "Save As" either from the menu or by hitting ctrl-shift-s 4. The following error message is printed: fatal error: file shape.c: line 75 (pango_shape): assertion failed: (glyphs->num_glyphs > 0) Also, if you crop the image before doing the save as, the following error message is printed: The instruction at "0x02b3a960" referenced memory at "0x02019a8f". The memory could not be "read". If you map a network drive to your share and access the files through that everything works as expected, so perhaps it is something to do with the save-as dialog not understanding UNC shares.
OMG, are you Windows users really not capable of looking for duplicates? This is starting to become annoying... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 161797 ***
