Description Michael Schumacher 2005-02-23 13:15:54 UTC
There should be links to the other languages of a specific help page, at least
on docs.gimp.org (preferably also for local versions).

Imagine the following situation - a user reads a tutorial and searches for some
terms he found in here. It's most likely that he will find the english version
this way, because many GIMP tutorials are written in English. If he isn't a
native english speaker, he might prefer the actual explanation of the tool,
plug-in or ... in his native tongue once he figured out what the tutorial is
refering to.

Reasonable idea. It's not clear that it can be implemented in a reasonable way.
Comment 2 Sven Neumann 2005-02-24 17:28:06 UTC
Perhaps this can be implemented using the gimp-help-lookup script (as found in
plug-ins/help). Given a help-id, it can lookup the associated help-page for a
given language.

I was playing with the profiling and the creation of the HTML pages. If I could leave the lang attribute during profiling, it should be possible to create an extra menu during the creation of the HTML pages which lists the available other languages. But at least I'll assign this bug.
Comment 4 Róman Joost 2012-12-05 21:49:37 UTC
This has been implemented. The online documentation is build with the language selector enabled to switch between languages.
