Description ism2bcx 2005-02-13 07:21:07 UTC
Version details: Windows
Distribution/Version: 95 B Finnish

Windows 95B, Finnish locale, IE 5.5

Downloaded your latest windows test-version
http://www.gnome.org/~jody/gnumeric/win32/gnumeric-1.4.2-rc1.exe
Run the installer
Installer unpacked the files and started to install them to
C:\GNUMERIC. In the middle of this operation it complained (in Finnish) that
it culdn't copy or remove(reolace?) libfreet (this is probably just
the beginning of the file name) and frose my computer.
I had to press reboot. During the renoot mys system scanned the file system and
informed that I had 15 MB of probably missing files which I deleted. Not happy.
I happend to run scandisk a few ours before so this mess was likely caused by
gnumeric installer.
I had about 15 Mb files total in my C:}GNUMERIC folder which I deleted.
I run the installer again and now I got the same error but installer was able to
continue. When I rebooted my computer (like I was told to) I run the Gnumeric
command from my Start/Programs/Gnumeric program group (Installer didn't create
desktop icon nor it ask to create it or I just didn't find it on my desktop).
When I run the command I got an error message (in Finnish), something like
LIBGLIB-2-0-0-DLL is linked to missing export SHELL32.DLL:SHGetPathFromIDListW
and "A device attached to the system is not functioning"
My autoexec.bat path is correct for gnumeric and libs. I googled this error
message and it seems win95 doesn't support that function

Chances are this will not be fixed. In any case, that will be the gtk+
team.
