Description John Richard Moser 2005-02-09 05:02:06 UTC
NSF files are Nintendo Sound Format. They are files which hold multiple
streams, which are composed of CPU data to be run through a Nintendo NES emulator.

I would like to see an NSF plug-in for gstreamer. This may be accomplishable by
referencing the file as a directory, if gstreamer has no existing way to handle
files containing multiple streams. For example, dw4.nsf/33 would be Nara and
Mara's battle theme (Dragon Warrior 4 NSF, track 33). The '/' character is an
invalid character for a file name IIRC, so this notation should "work" for
multi-stream files.

There's work on NSF support in another bug...

GStreamer has ways to handle multiple streams, so don't worry about that (and we
don't need any filename hacks like the one you proposed)
