GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 166372
Changing default text editor has no effect
Last modified: 2005-02-05 17:08:58 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I change the default text editor in gnome-default-applications-properties, my choice is not remembered, and the default text editor is not changed. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open gnome-default-applications-properties (Applications->Desktop Preferences->Advanced->Preferred Applications) 2. Select the 'Text Editor'-tab and choose another text editor (whether you use the drop-down list or the Custom... button makes no difference) 3. Close the window 4. Open it up again, select the 'Text Editor'-tab and see that it hasn't saved the change Actual results: When I change the default text editor, close the window, and come back, the old text editor is selected again. When I run the application in a terminal, and try to change the text editor, this warning is shown: (gnome-default-applications-properties:18482): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Deprecated function. User modifications to the MIME database are no longer supported. Expected results: I'd expect the default text editor to be changed, obviously ;) Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
