Description Timo 2005-02-04 17:34:56 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1
Package: control-center
Severity: critical
Version: GNOME2.9.90 2.9.x
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: Gnome-Theme-Manager crashing or running at 100% CPU
Bugzilla-Product: control-center
Bugzilla-Component: theme-manager
Bugzilla-Version: 2.9.x
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.9.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:
When starting the gnome-theme-manager it either crashes and runs after
pressing "restart application", crashes completely or (if I am lucky)
runs with 100% CPU load.
Running Ubuntu Hoary on a Powerbook (G4)

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Desktop->Preferences->Themes
or 2. Applications->Run Application->"gnome-theme-manager"
or 3. in gnome-terminal "gnome-theme-manager"

Expected Results:
Either crash -> dialog (restart/close/inform)-> running after "restart"
- using 100% CPU
or crash -> dialog -> "restart" -> crash (no more dialog)
or starting and running @ 100% CPU

How often does this happen?
This is the behavior gnome-themes-manager shows since a couple of months
and it's allways like this.

-------------
removing "Ana" did not change anything. I picked an Icon theme - maybe
there is some correlation between icons and this crash? I guess that
should be something handled by an exception and not make it impossible
for me (or any user) to switch to another theme. (I am currently running
a theme called "Xi-Gnome" havent been able to start the manager since
then. (allways comeplete crash->restart->crash)

Your version is too old. ;-) (Bugs were fixed just a couple days ago...)

Anyway, you've got multiple bugs listed here, but I'll go with the 100% cpu one.
