Description TomiscoI 2005-02-04 07:46:12 UTC
In Windows 2000, spanish version, the gradient dialog jumps continuously when
the mouse moves over the preview panel. It's impossible to create or edit a
gradient manually. I think that the solution is to give both panels (preview
colors and information) a static or stable size.

Thanks in advance.

Could you explain what you mean by "jumps continuously"? Does the dialog window
change its position on the screen? Does it change its size? Or is there a
problem with the contents of the window?
Comment 4 Michael Schumacher 2005-02-04 10:48:26 UTC
I'm unable to reproduce this with 2.2.3 on a Windows XP system with LANG=es...
Could be a GTK+ problem, which version do you use?
Comment 5 Sven Neumann 2005-02-04 10:50:41 UTC
Setting to NEEDINFO. We need a better description of the problem. So far I can
only guess what the bug reporter is trying to tell us.
Comment 6 TomiscoI 2005-02-04 13:00:17 UTC
My GTK is 2.4.14

The "jumping" is about the two panels: the preview panel (colors and peaks) and
the information panel (where is displayed data about the mouse position in the
above panel). Is a problem with the content of the window.

Comment 7 weskaggs 2005-02-04 17:29:42 UTC
It seems clear enough to me what the reporter is saying: that the appearance of
the dialog alternates rapidly between the two states shown in the two
attachments, as the mouse moves over the gradient display. It may be necessary
for the reporter to provide more information to make this solvable, but at the
moment there are no questions here that have not been answered, so I am removing
NEEDINFO.
Comment 8 weskaggs 2005-02-04 23:43:07 UTC
My guess is that the problem is either in Pango/fontconfig or in the font that
you are using -- the labels are being assigned zero height when they don't
contain any text. Could you tell us your font and your locale, and, if you
didn't use the standard Windows GIMP installer, how your GIMP was built?
Comment 9 TomiscoI 2005-02-07 08:05:46 UTC
Searching your config request, I found the solution: the problem is solved
selecting the "SMALL" theme in preferences dialog. I don't know why with
the "DEFAULT" theme is not working well with "labels".

My installation is downloaded from the page http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Thanks and sorry for my english.

This is most likely just a duplicate of bug #157570.
