GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 165713
Systray popup menu needs a quit element
Last modified: 2005-07-14 11:03:52 UTC
Right click on rhythmbox icon on the tray: there should be a quit item because is very tedious to have to: 1)right click on the icon 2)choos show windows 3)finally close the window to quit even single click on the tray then close the windows is boring and not-intuitive. There is really a need for a quit item in the popum menu, so the user can do: 1)right click on the tray 2)quit rhythmbox
Bug 125553 also contains this suggestion. Deliberately not marking a duplicate since the other Bug has a bunch of suggestions.
But I really agree and confirm this report. It could replace the "Show window" item since that action is already assigned to left-click on the icon.

This is exactly what I was thinking, it's great to see there is interest in improving user experience :)
I think it's broken to show/hide the window with single click. Show/hide should be double click, single clicking should be bound to play/pause. The "Show Window" checkbox should be replaced by a changing "Show Window"/"Hide Window" menu entry like Play/Pause is now. Below there should be the "Quit" item. .. Next --- Show Window/Hide Window Quit
Last comment sounds fine to me if a single/double click distinction can be made. Maintainer(s): Do you agree and will you possibly tag this task with the gnome- love keyword?
