Description Reed Hedges 2005-01-27 21:33:31 UTC
This might be an unusual request, but it's something I've desired from a window
manager for a long time, based on the way I tend to work with windows.

It's related to another feature request I'm about to make as well.

It would be very useful if metacity had two menu options (in the
upper-left-corner-menu -- with keyboard shortcuts) that would cause attempt to
rearrange either (a) all visible windows (on this workspace), or (b) all visible
windows belonging to the same application (group) such that all windows were
visible. In the ideal situation, windows would "tile" evenly but with a minimum
of movement from their original positions. In the least ideal situation, where
there may simply be too many windows, *some* part of each window (with
preference for the titlebar) would be visible. Note that windows do not need
to be resized to completely cover the screen.

Thanks for considering this or something similar! It would really be awesome!

Reed
