GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 164880
Feature Request: Don't open a window when clicking external link to download something
Last modified: 2005-01-22 08:58:31 UTC
Distribution: Slackware Slackware 10.0.0 Package: galeon Severity: enhancement Version: GNOME2.8.2 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Dropline Systems Synopsis: Feature Request: Don't open a window when clicking external link to download something Bugzilla-Product: galeon Bugzilla-Component: general Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Description: Please describe your feature request: As it stands right now, as of 1.3.19, if I click a link from an email, or a chat window, and it's to a downloadable object (i.e. compressed file, movie, mp3, etc), Galeon will open a new [blank] window and then prompt me to download/save that object. Is it possible to have galeon check the headers for the type of object it's download (inline viewable object vs. downloadable object) before it paints a window, I feel this could help keep the user's desktop that much more clutter free. Thank you all for an already great web browser. If I'm not being clear in this, I apologize and invite anyone to email me for further clarification. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2005-01-21 23:44 ------- Unknown platform unknown.
