GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 162061
'Unlock Keyring' and 'Authentication Required' dialogs pop up unnecessarily
Last modified: 2005-02-09 14:57:16 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1 Package: gnome-vfs Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.9.3 2.9.x Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu Synopsis: 'Unlock Keyring' and 'Authentication Required' dialogs pop up unnecessarily Bugzilla-Product: gnome-vfs Bugzilla-Component: Module: ssh/sftp Bugzilla-Version: 2.9.x Description: Description of Problem: I have set up two ssh/sftp connections using the 'Connect to Server...' dialog. After logging into Gnome, the first time I open up Nautilus (e.g. I double-click my Home icon on the desktop) the regular nautilus file manager opens up. But, at the same time, the 'Unlock Keyring' dialog pops up, apparently seeking to open up the keyring to which I saved the ssh passwords for the connections. If I click 'Deny' then the 'Authentication Required' dialog pops up asking for the password to the ssh site. This process repeats so that it happens once for each site. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create an ssh/sftp connection by using the 'Connect to Server...' dialog. 2. Log out of Gnome, and then back in. 3. Open nautilus (for example, start browsing your home directory) Actual Results: 'Unlock Keyring' and 'Authentication Required' dialogs pop up. Expected Results: 'Unlock Keyring' and 'Authentication Required' dialogs do not pop up on the initial opening of nautilus. Rather, they are displayed when I double-click on a network connection that actually requires the authentication. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2004-12-23 00:08 ------- Unknown platform unknown. I assume you are running in browser mode and therefore I think you are seeing bug #154277. Either way it is not a gnome-vfs bug but a nautilus one. If it should be a dup of #154277 please do not reopen it as a gnome-vfs one. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 154277 ***
