GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 161930
Muine should use GIO/GVFS for I/O
Last modified: 2011-07-07 05:57:10 UTC
I keep most of my music on a SMB share hosted on the big ugly RAID array in my closet. It would be very nice if muine intergrated with gnome-vfs so I could take advantage of all the fantastic userland filesystem work they've done. Having to set up staticly mapped SMB shares as root is tedious and requires giving a user more privs than is really needed. Currently, I'm stuck using Rhythmbox, which does have this sort of support (but I'd rather use Muine :)

Copy/paste from bug #158287: Jorn Baayen: Thanks for the patch. The plan is however to use canonicalized uris when we use gnome-vfs support.. that should do the trick.
Bug #351435 seems related too.
Gnome VFS is deprecated. Updating summary.
muine development has been stalled and it has been unmaintained for a few years now. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing all the bugs as WONTFIX. Please feel free to reopen the bugs in future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development.
