GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 161751
Menu item accelerator keys do not work if mouse is used to invoke a menu
Last modified: 2005-01-03 06:12:17 UTC
- Invoke gnome-terminal - Press ALT+F - Press 'p' - New Profile dialog box is displayed. - Close the dialog. - Click once on 'File' menu, to get a drop down of the menu. Make sure the focus stays on 'File'. - Press 'p' - The new profile dialog box is not displayed.
Hrm. happens in gedit and yelp, as well, but not evolution; I'm betting this is a gtk 2.6 problem. Can someone over there take a look at it?
This is not a new problem. GTK+ has always resolved mnemonics wrt to the currently active menu shell, which is the menubar in this case. Note that bug 89336 has a patch to make this work as you want, by trying to resolve mnemonics in the open submenu if they are not found in the menubar.
