Description APF 2004-12-19 10:06:01 UTC
I would like to see an applet created that is the GNOME equivalent to
KColorSelect in that a user could click on any colour onscreen and find out its
Hex value, RGB mixture and so forth. The Apple Mac also already has such a tool
and it is invaluable for DTP work.

I'm not sure an applet is what you want. This sounds more like something you
would use a discreet application for.
Comment 2 APF 2004-12-29 06:39:24 UTC
It is a tool that is handy for DTP users. It enables the user to select any
colour from any applicaiton onscreen and reports its Hex value and RGB and CMYK
colour mixes. The Apple Mac has such a tool, as does KDE. It is needed in DTP
work to find precise colour matches for work to be sent to a professional
printer. Yes, it would be extremely useful to have this as a separate applet,
rather than part of a larger application.
Comment 3 Danielle Madeley 2005-01-09 09:35:24 UTC
I don't think this should be an 'applet'. Instead perhaps an application.
Reassigning to gnome-utils.
