I want to count how much is 22% from 500

I get
500 * 22 %
and I see: 11000

I thought maybe I'm wrong then I:
500 / 22 %
i get: 22,727272727

noo... there have to be some mistake. It should be 110 of course.

Section 3.2.3 of the online help describes how the percent
operator works. If you want 22% of 500, you need to do:

500 % 22 =

You are not the first person who has had problems with the
way that gcalctool does percentage operations. Closing as
a duplicate of bug #135140
