GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 161144
Cannot set a definitive title
Last modified: 2006-01-16 16:20:03 UTC
I set a title using the dialog from the menu, but some commands change it. Is it possible to lock it ?
If you have the menu enabled: 1. Go to: Edit->Current Profile... 2. Click on the tab: Title and Command 3. Change Dynamically set title: Isn't displayed 4. Click Close button You can also right click somewhere in the terminal, choose Edit Current Profile and continue from step 2.
I tried this but it doesn't work. When you choose "Isn't displayed", it is the initial title ("Terminal") that is always displayed, and you can't change it anymore.
If I set the title in the preference dialog and change to "Isn't displayed" like Olav suggested, I correctly see the title I chose on the gnome-terminal window, and no application is able to change it. So it is effectively locked to what you chose. Did I understand correctly?
Michele: Pierre wants Terminal->Set Title to work under "Isn't displayed".
Olav, your workaround is no good for multiple tabs, which is where I'm having issues...
