Description LaMont Jones 2004-12-06 14:34:56 UTC
in an xterm, type xterm. Note that focus goes to the new window...

15+ years of training my fingers and brain has resulted in using focus=mouse,
and the expectation that the focus will stay on the window I'm in until _I_ move
the mouse elsewhere. Nevermind the extra windows that pop up wanting input. If
I wanted to type passwords and such into them, I'd move the mouse there....

Can we _PRETTY_ please have an option to focus=mouse that says to move focus
only when the user directs it to? Yes, I realize that violates metacity's
desire to read my mind and "do the right thing". In my case, "the right thing"
== stupid behavior that I've come to know and love over the last 15 years.

This is covered in bug 151984 and/or in bug 152004. I'm going to mark as a
duplicate of the later, though I think the former would be better if it actually
works out.
