GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 159402
Suddenly shuts down.
Last modified: 2019-03-23 20:45:23 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 2 (Tettnang) Package: gedit Severity: major Version: GNOME2.6. 2.6.x Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc Synopsis: Suddenly shuts down. Bugzilla-Product: gedit Bugzilla-Component: Plugins Bugzilla-Version: 2.6.x BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.6.0) Description: Description of the crash: When I chose OPEN from the menu, it decided to take a break and fell asleep. And I think it did the same thing once when I was trying to save a document. Steps to reproduce the crash: 1. Start gedit by double clicking a text file. OK It's fine. 2. With that file open, select open from the file menu or the icon on the toolbar, any text file. It then crashes. 3. But!!! If you open gedit from the gnome menu or the command line--even with file-- there is no problem and you can open as many files as you will, leaving some open, closing one, two, creating new files. It works. Expected Results: It should not crash when first opened by double clicking a file. How often does this happen? It happens everytime I start gedit by double-clicking an associated text file. Additional Information: Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gedit' (no debugging symbols found)...Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".
