Description email 2004-11-20 19:15:25 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 3 (Heidelberg)
Package: gnome-utils
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.8.0 2.8.1
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: gnome-panel has quit unexpectedly
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-utils
Bugzilla-Component: gdict
Bugzilla-Version: 2.8.1
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.8.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
I was just browsing the web using firefox when all of the sudden the
error message "gnome-panel" has quit un expectedly pops up. My options
are to restart application or close. Choosing "close" just makes the
error message keep popping up over and over again and restart
application just says that the application is already running.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. log in
2.
3.

Expected Results:
"gnome-panel" has quit unexpectedly. It pops up over and over again and
the panel is totally unuseable

How often does this happen?
everytime

Additional Information:
fresh install of Fedora Core 3 (x86_64) + most recent "up2date" patches.
I haven't even gotten around to installing or configuring anything else
on this computer yet. This is Day 2 of my first Red Hat install... I'm
not impressed.

Appears to be a unique stack trace, according to the simple-dup-finder.
Comment 2 Jaap Woldringh 2004-11-21 16:08:39 UTC
This bug looks very much the same to the one I experienced together with the
eggscup bug I described in bugreport 158893.

And can very well be related to the last yum update on Saturday 20th.

I am confronted with this bug when shutting down the computer from the panel.

To be complete (I hope so): I use Fedora Core release 3, which is installed last
Monday and is fully up to date.
I also have KDE and there are no problems whatsoever. If that can help you :)

Could you attach your ~/.recently-used file here?

(looks similar to bug #157723)
