Try loading up the following PDF in GPDF:

http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Guardian/documents/2004/11/11/lemon_jelly.pdf
Comment 1 Vincent Noel 2004-12-10 18:50:52 UTC
Confirmed. The CPU usage skyrockets, gpdf eats all the memory and in the end
nothing happens.
Comment 2 Vincent PENNEC 2005-01-19 20:29:46 UTC
Got same problem with http://www.msi-computer.fr/manuel/KT3Ultra-2PDF.zip (7,6
MB technical documentation of motherboard). The first 28 pages display well then ...

I'm using gpdf 2.8.0 debian
Comment 3 Olav Vitters 2006-01-29 01:10:42 UTC
Gpdf is no longer maintained, closing WONTFIX. Please use Evince for your pdf
viewing needs.

evince also takes a long time to render this PDF, though it does not appear to chew up all the memory. Reopen, reassign to evince.
