Description adpierce 2004-10-27 01:32:48 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 2 (Tettnang)
Package: gedit
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.6. unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: gedit crashes on opening files
Bugzilla-Product: gedit
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.6.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
If I try to open a file by using the toolbar in gedit, or even if I try
to open a file by using the file menu, the system always crashes.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Open up gedit
2. try to open a file
3.

Expected Results:
The file should open, if I drag and drop files into gedit, they open
fine, but it is a pain to have to do that.

How often does this happen?
almost every time

Additional Information:
Sometimes if I open up gedit without simultaneously opening a file I can
open a few files from the toolbar/menu.
