GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 156530
no support for "info" pages, completely lacking in documentation
Last modified: 2010-04-30 04:28:25 UTC
Distribution: Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Package: Yelp Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.6.2 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Gentoo Linux Synopsis: no support for "info" pages, completely lacking in documentation Bugzilla-Product: Yelp Bugzilla-Component: Help converters Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Bugzilla-Keyword: doc Description: Language: any Documentation chapter/section: n/a Current text: n/a Expected text: yelp should have a man page or in /usr/share/doc/yelp/README or other file in that directory that says what URIs the help browser can support. Reading the changelog suggested that yelp would be able to display info pages, but no amount of experimenting with URI paths (eg info:make, info:/usr/share/info/make, info:/usr/share/info/make.info, etc etc) would get yelp to open the document. It was only a throwaway comment in bug #140951 that mentions that the code that calls yelp-info is commented out! Additional Information: I'm using yelp version 2.6.1 here. No idea if later versions are like this, but you really need some help to let people know what yelp can and can't currently do, especially if functionality it removed. It would save a lot of wasted user time.... ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2004-10-26 19:30 ------- Unknown platform unknown. Setting to default platform "Other".
