GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 156250
Application "gnome-panel" (process 1296) has crashed due to fatal error due to a fatal error.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. When I log on and gnome takes me to my desktop, this error pops up. When I close the error, another pops up that is the same except that t has a different process number. After I have closed all errors, my gnome side panel disappears, and I can't access anything that was on it. 2. 3. Stack trace:
+ Trace 51266
Thread 1 (Thread 8192 (LWP 1296))
Other information: This error only started to occur after I changed my root password. I also changed my local user password.
I am not sure what version of Gnome I am running because I can't access my panel anymore. I have the most current version of RedHat (9.0) so it is the Gnome that comes with that.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that you're running RedHat 8.0. Could you double check? Also, you can find out which version of the gnome-panel you are running by opening a terminal and typing 'rpm -q gnome-terminal', to which, you will probably be told that you are running 2.0.6. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 94625 ***
