Description Stefan Sauer (gstreamer, gtkdoc dev) 2004-10-21 13:45:35 UTC
after installing a new schema, shouldn't that notify gconf that there is new stuff.
I don't see the new schema after installation and I can'd find it documented
what I have to do to see it (rebooting the machine or what?).

This is also in Novell bugzilla as
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=118384
Comment 2 Chris Lahey 2005-09-22 17:23:59 UTC
This is a problem during package installation. gconf does try to shut down the
daemon, but only the daemon for the current user. As the install is running as
root, this doesn't shut down user daemons. This means that installing an app
and then trying to run it will fail because the new schemas aren't noticed by
the running gconfd.
