GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 155969
gdm should remember what AT programs are running when switching programs.
Last modified: 2007-02-27 04:11:54 UTC
When gdm switches between the login, chooser, setup, and other programs, it ends up restarting the Xserver. This causes all AT programs that are running to exit. The user must relaunch them in order to be able to continue using gdm. This can be especially annoying when switching back and forth between programs (like gdmlogin and gdmsetup). It would be better if gdm remembered which programs were running and automatically restarted them. Obviously it should not restart any programs on user logout. In that situation it is appropriate for the user to start the programs again if needed.
