Can you provide more information ? Do you get any error message when starting
gdesklets in a shell ?

Please try updating PyGTK and gnome-python to the latest stable versions (2.4
and 2.6) and tell us if the problem still persists.

I can confirm that the error occurs on Gentoo systems (which do not have ebuilds
for the latest Gnome-Python or PyOrbit). After manually installing
Gnome-Python-2.6.0 and PyOrbit-2.0.1 everything worked correctly.
