Description fasfour 2004-10-03 05:50:26 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1
Package: nautilus
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.8.0 2.8.0
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: nautilus crash
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: 2.8.0
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.8.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Browsing mounted shares through will randomly crash nautilus. Once this
happens, it will always happen again until X is restarted

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. user mount a vfat partition
2. browse the partion by rmc on the mount volume at the desktop and
select "browse folder"
3. enter in some of the directories

Expected Results:
Notification that Nautilus crashed and a pop-up dialogue giving the user
the choice of restarting, closing or reporting the crash

How often does this happen?
randomly, but seems to be more often with mounted vfat shares. I have a
suspicion that it may have something to do with a window freezing such
as mozilla-firefox.

Additional Information:
using gnome 2.6 (experimental .deb packages), debian GNU/linux and
XFree86 4.3
