Description Mikael 2004-10-02 14:30:15 UTC
fixed so the extras keys on my logitech keyboard will work (not using any
third-party software).
just added the keys to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XKeySymDB, got the keycodes from xev
and enabled the keys with xmodmap.
then i added some keybindings with gnome-keybinding-properties and everything
worked great, until i re-started gnome/metacity.

i can't type anything until i remove the keybindings.
if i re-add the keybindings the extra keys works again, until a re-start.

I had the same problem. Typing worked only for some applications, such as the
SSH password ask dialog, but not most.

rm -r ~/.gconf/apps/gnome_settings_daemon/keybindings seems to fix it.

gnome_settings_daemon -> it's a control center bug.  In fact, I'm pretty sure
it's bug 133815.
