Description Baptiste Mille-Mathias 2004-09-30 19:55:09 UTC
Hello Edd,
I sent you a proposal for a the "Choose Device" Dialog.
It' just a mockup as I don't have any programming skill, i'm sorry not to able
to write it (except the glade).
On the right of the device name, on the Combox Box, the type of the class can be
added or the class' icon.
I put too a widget to view the file to send.

Forget to add the required keyword

I don't think it's necessary to preview the files being sent. The push is
usually initiated from Nautilus, which does the previewing for you. Previewing
would only be useful if the user is sending several files from a directory with
great many files (ie. when all selected files cannot be displayed in the
Nautilus window at once). Plus the big prominent preview window distracts the
user from the purpose of the dialog, which is to choose the device the file(s)
will be sent to. If you must have a preview window, please consider using an
expanding window (don't really know what that widget is called). Please see
attached mockup.

Hello Teppo,

I like your dialog box, however, It could be cool to see the class of the
bluetooth device in the dropbox, beside its name.
Another thing is to replace "Refresh" by "Rescan".

What do you think about that ?

Regards

When I said "see the class", I mean, the icon type (cellular, ...)

A little bug snuck in the mockup. The OK button should of course not be dimmed.
Comment 8 Teppo Turtiainen 2005-05-22 18:07:52 UTC
Sure, why not. Attached a mockup with a device class icon and Rescan instead of
Refresh.

This is now a duplicate of bug 172127, but please consider implementing
Baptiste's idea about showing the class of the Bluetooth device in the dropbox.
I think that would make the dialog look really nice.
