Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Open one folder (from utf8-mounted vfat). Select a bunch of files
with Hebrew names.
2. Open another folder (from local ext3 fs).
3. Drag the files from the first folder to the second folder.

Expected Results:
Copying/moving/whatever the files.

How often does this happen?
Pretty frequently.

Additional note:
It seems that what is required to reproduce the crash is dragging ONE file with
a Hebrew name and ONE or more file with any name.

I'd like to try to reproduce to provide a stack trace with debugging symbols. 
But, I don't know Hebrew.  Could you attach a file whose contents are simply the
name of the Hebrew file?  (Then I'll try to use cut&paste or something to
generate files appropriately; also note to self: Bug 149202 may be related, but
it appears to be talking about invalid unicode so I'm not sure if it's a fair
test case here...)
