Description Sebastien Bacher 2004-09-27 23:09:09 UTC
This bug has been reported here: https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/1704

"When using "Connect to Server" to connect to a Windows 2003 Server (results
differ with XP workstation) and entering "servername" in the server field and
"sharename" in the share field, there is an authentication failure reported.

I have determined that it is not a problem with the Windows server, as
attempting to connect using smbclient works, as does entering the full path (ie,
smb://server/share) in the File Browser.

I have also determinded that using the "Connect to Server" dialog, entering
"servername/sharename" in the server field and leaving the share field blank,
also works."

This is buggyness in the gnome-vfs smb auth code and basically another dup of
bug 132933. There's nothing nautilus can do about it.
