GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 153178
I/O Warning :failed to load external entity "NULL"
Last modified: 2004-12-22 23:18:56 UTC
hi, do not send me to the FAQ please, i read it carrefully. i did set the env variable HOME correctly. but when i launch Dia0.94, i have got this message.i have access to the menu. Then i want to edit a text, write something, want to change the font (Symbol) and Dia does crash. a window appears : ** ERROR ** : file shape.c : line 75 (pango_shape) : assertion failed: (glyphs->num_glyphs > 0) aborting.... and in the dos window : (dia.exe:3136) Glib-Gobject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c : line 1561 (g_object_ref): assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (dia.exe:3136) CRITICAL **: file pango-engine.c : line 68 (-pango_engine_shape_shape): assertion 'PANGO_IS_FONT (object)' failed i do not understand the error, maybe libs of fonts...but i am using WinXP system... so i do not know how to add such libraries. an idea? regards, sébastien
I also have this problem, except that when I changed the font, I get an error upon clicking the symbol font (after specifying "other font") that reads: ** ERROR **: file shape.c: line 73 (pango_shape): assertion failed: (glyphs->num_glyphs > 0). Click on OK in the error box, and dia shuts down. I admit I don't have a clue about what's causing this, but maybe this specific reference to the code will help.
I ran dia-setup-0.94.exe and received the same error message (I/O Warning :failed to load external entity "NULL") when launching Dia. Then I downloaded gtk+-2.4.7.zip and copied over the gtk files that were installed by dia-setup-0.94.exe. The error message no longer appears.
The symbol font problem looks like bug #149643 or perhaps bug #151068. Note to the bug reporter: The bug status NEEDINFO means that the developers are waiting for more information from you, which is not what you want.
Thanks Robert, duplicating. [And IMO it isn't a blocker if there is a simple workaround: don't do it !-] *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 151068 ***
